Most beginner classes teach a simple marble. At Melt, first-timers make a real implosion: a flower or coral reef suspended inside clear glass, a technique usually saved for intermediate students.

Tyler Schnabel
Tyler has spent 14 years at the torch, and it shows the moment he starts teaching. He built his glass career in Burlington, Vermont, and has shown his work in solo exhibitions from Vermont to Hawaii. He has collaborated with some of the world's top glass artists and performed live demonstrations in Las Vegas in front of hundreds of people.
Along the way he pioneered his own stone-texture and gold inlay techniques. Now based in San Juan, he guides every first-timer step by step until they're holding a piece of glass they made themselves.
